Web 2.0 and Mobile Gaming and Entertainment

The Apple “App Store” has completely shifted the business model for mobile gaming. Suddenly you can sell your product directly to consumers, by-passing the previous market entry barriers. Now Google and Blackberry are going to get into the app store business. Vancouver is right in the middle of it all with its expertise and world class talent in gaming and digital new media giving it a competitive advantage over the rest of the world that has also wised up to this phenomenon.

We have invited some of the players in this mobile gaming and entertainment sector to tell you their stories, share their experiences and most of all, show you some cool products. This is going to be a fun night.

Congrats to Big in Japan!

Big in Japan created Shop Savvy. The app that runs on the G1 snaps a picture of a barcode and finds the best prices around your area for that item. Brilliant.

They won the nomination from our DFW group and have now been selected in the global top 20 for Mobile Peer Awards held annually by Mobile Monday Global: http://www.mobilepeerawards.com

So it looks like a trip to Barcelona is in their near future, Good luck guys!
