Richard Stone discusses Mobile Strategy

Monday Sept. 12th Richard Stone will discuss Mobile Strategy

The irreversible shift towards ‘anytime, anywhere’ connectivity means that the first – and maybe the only – opportunity you have to connect with your customers is via their mobile device. Recent research has shown that you have just six seconds to provide an engaging mobile experience – if you fail to deliver on this expectation, 71% of your visitors will simply give up and go somewhere else. And remember, your fiercest competitors, the disruptive ‘ankle biters’ and the social networking grapevine are all just a click away.

In this session, Richard Stone will discuss the critical customer experience elements that should be part of every company’s mobility strategy, and will share the best practices that we have developed in helping thousands of companies around the world to successfully manage their customer’s mobile experience.

About the speaker:
Richard Stone is Senior Solution Marketing Manager at Compuware, responsible for Mobile and Cloud-based Application Performance Management solutions.

Prior to joining Compuware, Richard has held senior marketing and product management positions at Hewlett Packard, Compaq, plus a number of other US and European IT companies. His domain expertise includes mobile computing, wireless data, cloud computing, application performance management, security, compliance, and high-availability solutions for all market segments (SMB, Enterprise, and key verticals such as Finance, Government, Healthcare, and Retail.

What is Angel/VC investing
Angels are high net-worth individuals and venture capitalists seek to deploy funds in growth businesses in the hopes of a generating a return. Angels and VCs seek deals with strong management teams, a working product, and a large target market with attractive growth rates.

Who Should Apply?
Entrepreneurs who have developed a product/service and are in the market or about to go to market should consider applying. Those with seed stage concepts are typically too early for this type of funding.

Importance of pitching
Entrepreneurs need to be able to pitch deals effectively since they will have only 10 minutes or less to communicate the value of their business opportunity. For a 10 minute pitch, 10-15 slides are generally used. The pitch must focus not only on the product/service but also on the business itself including the management team, target market, competitive analysis, and how the funds will be used.

$250 to submit an application.
What you get for the application fee?
Texas Entrepreneur Networks assists your company with:
–Introduction to angel investing
–Feedback on your executive summary
–Live coaching on your pitch
–Pitch to investors–if selected
–Introduction to angel groups where appropriate
–Followup meeting with interested investors
In short, the entrepreneur gets feedback, the opportunity to network with investors, and potentially get funding.

What is the track record of funding forums?
Typically 50% of those who pitch go on to receive funding from angel and venture capital investors.
